I'm looking to get my first PAM and fell in love with the Base LOGO 000, but found out that the lume is rather poor compared to others. Would you generally say the accuracy of the Sandwich Dial is better compared to Sausage? Also open back is one factor, but I'm actually not too concerned about especially with the option of an PAM 111 V4 Noob Factory with Y Incabloc.

Regardless, I would like to hear your opinions.

kind regards

I'd go with the triple zero too.
Solid choice and XF did a great job on their version

I was going for a 000 but QC issues ended that for me so I have only the Noob V3/4 111 which is probably a safe bet with very few if any faults/tells and great lume plus a nice glass caseback to amuse you for hours:giggle:.

Get the 005 XF. A good compromise of not-so-bad lume, thin crown and low cost.

The Noob 111, for me, is overrated.

Another one that you might want to consider is the titanium 177. I like this one very much.

Regardless of your choice, they are all very good. The zero's lume variation is only noticeable under very specific conditions although it bothers some people.

I think I'll listen to the Panerai Reference Review Guide, and choose the PAM 112 as my first due to the weak lume of the 000.
I'm a bit worried that I feel the Dial of the 005 is a bit too overloaded for me, even though I like the sporty look.
The titanium cases indeed look gorgeous as well.

Might have to change the fat crown :adoration:

It's a crap shot anyway so you might get lucky and get a thin crown.

Congrats in advance to your first PAM. May you have many more to come.

Be careful! Gen or rep, you don’t stop and you’re never satisfied with just ONE Panerai. After going through 6 of them, here my opinion:

Case material:
- bronze: nice in photos, flashy irl. Definitely an eye catcher like an all gold submariner. Up to you if you want that kind of attention. Also hard to match outfits with.
- titanium: good choice, but Scratches easy. Not as refined for suit wear.
Polished SS: the most versatile. Dress it up, dress it down. Also easy buff out scratches with cape cod.

Model:
- luminor marina: most versatile
- submersible: few occasions to wear. Could be an EDC if you’re the next talent selection for The Expendables
- radiomir: dressy

Despite the lume of the XF000 (which my comments in the thread - albeit true - got blown out of proportion and received not how I originally intended) it’s my personal favorite out of the models you’re contemplating. I love the sausage dial look over sandwich. I also have 111 and like it a lot but seems I always lean towards the 000.

I like 000 on rubber strap for casual daily wear and my 111 with high quality leather strap for business to business casual wear.

You can’t go wrong with any of the models you’re considering. Good luck!

OP, as for the accuracy of the 6497 movements, I had them all tested and they’re within +/-6seconds a day so that’s not too bad for a non hacking time piece. Idk of dial type would affect accuracy. Haven’t heard of that before. For caseback, I say go open all the way. The p9000 clone or 6497 are very beautiful. Closed caseback unless engraved do it no justice and take away half the Panerai appeal imo.

I've owned each of your four choices and they are as every bit as good as it can get OTB. Don't worry so much about the sausage vs sandwich lume, pick whatever suits your fancy. Anyway, you'll get them all eventually. ;)

I assumed you're going for the Noob version. From what I've read so far, many got a mix of V3/V4 and often it's the fat crown that offends. It also seems that some managed to get a true V4. Therefore, you may get lucky as well.

The 005 does the trick for me. I think the sausage dial “pops” so much more than the 111. Also, the closed case back is a plus.
