Getting To Know The Place

My PAM Fiddy which I bought used off here a couple of years ago has died. I took it into a local watch repair guy and he says the (and I'm probably getting the term completely wrong) cam pinion (or pinion cam?). The piece in the very center of the movement which the minute and second hands connect to broke. He thinks the watch got dropped. I don't recall dropping it but maybe somebody in my family did.

Anyways. he can't fix it without finding a replacement? Is it possible to get this part? What information would I need to find a replacement? Would it be worth getting a new movement?

Any thoughts/opinions/suggestions would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Replacement movements are cheap. Ofrei should have them. Heck, even the dealers have them

Cannon pinion. Should be available, very cheap. Roughly $12-16, and that would be on the high side for a gen ETA part. You will need to find the correct size though.

If you don't care about movement engravings you can buy an entire movement for $35 from getat or parnis as well as many others. (i would go this route)

Did the hands fall off or the crystal break? If you don't think it was dropped maybe it's just time for a service or replacement. I bet Katt could fix it for you.
