Hey guys,
Anyone how labor intensive it is to regulate and calm my watch down?
Its running 15 minutes fast per HOUR!
Advice?

Similar situation?

It doesn't need adjusting it's got an oily hair spring on the balance wheel. Slap the watch face up and face down in the palm of your hand a few times and check it again. repeat the process a couple times before you move on to more expensive options.
Slapping the watch will usually free the windings of the hairspring up so that it runs properly again.

This is pretty common with the pocket watch movements and the 289x movements, must be something in the shipping process that jars the watch just right that the windings of the hair spring come together and stick.

+1 to oldecrows suggestion...

A good spanking has brought many a misbehaving watch into line in my house... one good dial side smack into the palm followed by a caseback side smack into the palm... and problem of superfast running solved.

it sounds funny, but it worked for me in the past.

I palmed it pretty hard and it runs fine! :)

You guys are the best!!

A couple of slaps and it has definitely slowed down...we'll see in the morning...
Thank you guys for your insight!

Now who wants to help me write the apology letter to the seller that I bitched at because I received a
"defective" watch?
