Had the watch for a little over a year. Last night I noticed it wasn't working properly so I decided to wind the watch up. However, trying to wind the watch, the knob wouldn't move forward. It's as if the watch was stuck it in it's position.

Any suggestions or ideas on what to do? Is the watch worthless now?

Both ahould cost the same price .

This happened to me once. The crown would not turn so I completely let down the mainspring and that fixed it. It's been working since.

What do you mean by "let down the mainspring"?:)

By the way, I should mention that this all happened, when I took my watch in to find a screw, since the screw on the top left hand corner fell off. Because of this, the "L" shaped link came off.

I took it to a regular time shop in the mall and he was able to find a screw to secure the watch again. Could this have resulted in the watch no longer winding up? When I left the mall, watch was working fine, worked fine the next day, and then just locked up.

After carefully reading the first post, I think all these problems could be caused by loose screw (one of the two mounting screws). It was moving all around movement and stops it from time to time, until it get stuck permanently. This time it get stuck in keyless blocking winding.

It happen to me once, watch suddenly got "stops" during the day and i.e. at the evening it was approx 20 minutes behind (screw locked the gears, the unlocked and so on...). A day later it got stuck in the gears of secods hand and stopped whole watch.

This is EXACTLY what happened to my watch. When I got it back from the repair shop all was fine, until later in the evening. I looked at it, and the watch was 10 - 15 minutes behind the normal time. I didn't think anything of it, and I reset the time.

Later on in the evening, the small second circle stopped moving completely. I can reset the time, but I can't wind the watch.

Can the watch be repaired or it's basically useless now?

I opened the caseback, release all tensions from the main spring, removed first bridge - no loose screw; remove second bridge - found it! Reassembled everything back, wind it - working till now :) 30 minutes of fear and it is working :) Watchsmith will do it in 10 minutes.
