I am very confident that we are looking at a bronze watch, which is the quality and composite of the Helson Diver. I owned one of those briefly, and as a person who works around these types of metals I recognize that smell. It feels malleable , just like bronze.
Does it have flaws ? Yes. IT'S A REP. Overall I would say that the watch is worth every penny. I dipped mine in ketchup to do the quick clean. I want to observe it patina on the So Cal dry weather. I have a salt water tank in my home. I will dip it in there this weekend and see what happens.
On to the pics. I put it on one of my Simona straps. I have ordered a green shark from them with a bronze buckle. I'll throw some more pics up when it comes. I have some tinkering to do with this watch still.
