Hey guys,
I should be receiving a pam187G with A7753 this week that I purchased from a fellow member. I have a source that is able to get an ETA7753 at wholesale and swap the movement for me. His only concern was whether the hands and dial would fit. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

The dial should be no problem, since the spacing on the clone and gen 7753 are the same. The hands on the clone movement may have smaller openings. A watchsmith with a decent staking kit should be able to mod them, but you should also have no trouble finding hands hands that will fit an eta 7753 on ebay:

Thanks for the info and thanks set2374 for the link. Hopefully I won't need to source the hands. I'm surprised no one has tried this yet. I searched this forum and others but haven't found anyone that has tried it.

You should be fine nice watch, but why would you want to spend extra money on a movement no one is going to see? The Asian movement is good enough, the main problems with these watches are hands won't reset to zero cause by hand losing their grip on the movement pin. The most common problem being the quick date set coming loose because the c clamp comes loose or breaks, most people epoxy it closed. Your best bet is to send it to Vac and get the hands and dial lumed properly and water resistant. Beyond that IMHO if it ain't broke don't fix it, the day it acts up then do your thing, but for now just enjoy the watch...

One way or the other you should be fine, good luck and enjoy your watch.

I don't think the A7753 is any better than any other A7750, but you don't see a lot of movement swaps because the eta 7753's are very pricey--around $600-$700.00. A7753's aren't that common in reps, so I doubt you're going to see many threads about people swapping out A7753's for clones at this point.

A7753 is better than 7750. Less complication with the date day set. They uses the pusher at 10 o'clock to set the day rather than the crown.

I hear you guys,
I've been debating about getting the watch serviced for around $150 round trip or just getting the ETA7753 at a discount for around $400 and not having to worry about sourcing parts or using the chronograph. Ideally I would just wait until my watch needs servicing but my source can only get the movement for a little while longer since he will be changing career paths shortly.

Get the movement and keep it first. You can sell them easily anyway provided you sell them at the discount prices too
