Hi Guys,

New at this so apologies for asking the question.

I purchased a 5512 Rollie from Silix to 'Vintage'

I was expecting a very plain movement in the back, to my surprise the movement was very nicely decorated! Although you can't really see the pearling in the photo too well, you'll have to take my word for it! The rotor has geneva stripes.

I know it’s a 21J (runs very smoothly I must say)

Also, once I took the face and hands off I was pleasantly surprised to see it has a datewheel!?!

Any knowledge anyone can give me on this would be great, I find it really fascinating. But for a newbie there is a lot to learn (I’ve done plenty of reading)

Thank you

Ben

Of course, it has a datewheel, every DG-2813 has it.
Where did you get this movement holder? Did you buy it from Hans Wilsdorf?
;)

Scrap that! Google was my friend and now I feel silly. Should have known that. And yes it's nice holder wouldn't you agree?

That is onr of the better 21j's (generic for cheapo Chinese auto) but I dont think that is a Dix-Guan. Some 21j's are much better quality than others, for sure.
