Movement and dial for a 029

Hi guys,

I have a 029 that I have up for sale here. However, if no one buys it, I am considering having it DLC'ed and then upgrading the movement, dial and hands. The reason I am considering this is because I love the way the CG is super flush against the case. I haven't seen this kind of fit often. In fact, of all my Pams(more expensive), I like the way this 029 fits the best.

What kind of movement would I need for this?

My other question is...do I have another choice for a dial? Like can I put a tobacco dial and black or gold hands?

What do you guys think?

I would advise rather just cutting your losses and getting a brand new 029. That one you're selling would require way too much work to improve it. The majority of the new pams all have flush cg's.

+1, well said! The new 029m fron the noob factory is so close to gen that its unbelievable! too bad its not for my taste....

I ended up paying $200 for the noob 029 2nd hand so it's hard to beat that price for one of the best pam reps. If you keep your eyes open you can find them in the lower $200's.

I will take this matter to the moderators...who have shown themselves to be men of fairness and integrity.

As I said in my earlier post...I have dropped my price to make it a fair sale.

I guess though a character like you would not be interested in that tiny tidbit of truth.

Listen, you guys can have your fun, but I can enjoy my "new" 029 with a very fair price, too. It come with 3 straps, BTW. LOL.

It's just like some people have to spend huge for a BK Sub, however I can enjoy my 21j without any hesitation.

I don't know...it just bugs me. Up until now, all my experiences with all the members that I have interacted with have been so pleasant. Then, someone "special" comes along...well, there's one in every classroom.

As you can see from this thread, this was a watch I wanted to keep for myself and make a "super rep".

Wow I don't think I have ever witnessed such immaturity on this site. I insinuate that a 21j old pam 029 rep is expensive for selling for $150, in a separate thread to the sales one, and he takes it to the mods... I have seen so many sales threads where people say they feel it is too expensive and all the seller does is generally ignore it or state why it is going for that price.

It is just my PERSONAL opinion that the price was rather high especially considering I picked up a NOOB 029 super rep with 2 straps for $200 just the other day. The fact he was contemplating sending this out dated 21j rep off to be modded into a 'super franken' by vac makes me wonder WTF.

He then proceeded to pm a mod and request something be done about me because I suggested the buyer paid more than he should and hence was unlucky....!!! Are you kidding me? Imagine if every time someone criticized another persons watch on here it was followed up with a pm to the mods to do something about it...

It really amazes me that this was his reaction.

I'm confused to what you are trying to say here?? Are you asking for the price of the Silix watch?

Craig88, the price I paid for this one is very fair. In fact, very similar to what you quoted from Silix all thing considered.

I have a few Silix special hanging around my house, I also have quite a few Priceangels special to play with. My wife's cheap PAM is also 21j, interestingly it's her favorite watch. My daughter's watch is a Omega from Silix, too.

Guess where are our Gens? They are in the safe.

No need to feel unlucky for me. In the real world, I am in the 33% income tax bracket. I feel blessed.

I'm sure you wont be disappointed in it. I guess when a low traded watch comes along and I have no idea what the going market price is I usually am a bit sceptical. I really have no idea on the value of the straps but I have seen them range from $10 - $200.

I guess at the end of the day it wasn't a bad price, although most likely not the bargain of the century either. I just found it incredibly immature how intensely he reacted. This forum is about ensuring people are not ripped off so I for one prefer there to be a bit of questioning, which might offend a sensitive seller, rather than everyone posting "great price, great watch" for every sales thread that comes along.

....what I choose to do with my watches and my funds that I allocate for my hobby....is my business, not yours. If I want to buy a new movement for my watch, have my watch DLC'ed, buy a new dial, have it super lumed and assembled by one of the more respected watchsmiths on ALL sites....THAT IS MY DECISION AND MY BUSINESS!

This is not a sales thread firstly so don't tell me to GTFO this sale and secondly saying the price seemed a bit high does not imply the seller was dishonest. Dishonesty is when the seller tries to sell a 21j as a swiss 7753 or something along those lines. Over pricing a watch has nothing to do with dishonesty if all info is correctly stated.

I'm bowing out of this immaturity now so have a good day boys.
