I'm currently wanting a 629 cali dial DLC 1950 luminor.

SF and ZF make them.
SF has plexi which isn't right and ZF made a stupid mistake with the font to the crown lever which would bug me.
Both are super clone 4.

V6 make the 617 which has the best dome crystal and DLC. It has a 6497-2 movement.

So I was thinking I'd order the 617 and buy the cali dial and gold hands separately. Will this work or did V6 use a 6497 because the super clone won't work with the gold hands?

Although I'm sure the 425 has gold hands on a super clone. So should be ok?

Maybe it's easier to buy the ZF and install the crown guard of the SF?

I don't think clone hands will fit on a 6497. CP looks larger in the latter.

Buy both and see if color is the same.

Im having to do that for the 372 to see if the thread on the case back is the same from nob to zf. If not then sell it online and you might take a $10-$20 hit

Any idea where I could source the correct gold ones for a 6497?

Helena Rou has similar hands for sale but you might have to relume them if the lume on hands won't match the one on dial.

Actually, what if I bought a PAM629 super clone from ZF and a PAM617 6497 from V6 and transplanted them? Should the cases be the same and the movements fit the same or would that not work?

I recall someone trying the same on a 372 without success.
But then I think I recall someone who did it.
I can't really help here :)

Hmmm. What if I bought an SF 629 and fitted a V6 617 crystal? You think that might be a better option?

Swapping parts between same maker is predictably possible, but when makers are different it's a trial and error thing...

Thanks. I might search to see if anyone has done it with the 127. That might give me more of a clue.
