Hey guys,
been reading up on these forums for a while as i'm about to pull the trigger on a carrera calibre 5.
been getting confused with regards to movements,

replicas are thicker due to modifications done to the A7750 movement to cater to additional gears? did i get that right?

are there any movements preferred on tags more than others? also, is there no movement with which i could use chronographs reliably i.e use the pushers without risk of screwing anything? i keep reading posts where users are discouraged from using the pushers.

lastly, any opinions on the 2824-2 movement? that is the one i'll be getting in the calibre 5 from ryan.
i've been told its reliable.

thanks again

Reliable asian chronograph movt?? One that I can think off is the Seagull ST19, but that is manual-winding movt.

Is like 50:50 regarding A7750 with chrono function or second hands @6o'clock/@12o'clock mate.

Lastly.. Yes you should go with A2824, you can't go wrong with it.

Let's others chimes in about this.

A unmodified 7750 has the seconds running at the 9 marker. Anything else is modified with extra gears and I personally would advise against as they can be a ticking time bomb due to the extra drag placed on the movement. A 7750 is thicker than a lot of in house chrono movements so that's why the 7750 versions are thicker a lot of the time.

There are some fairly good quartz TAG chronos if you want 99.999% reliable but other than that it's the 7750 if you want a chrono which can be troublesome (no problems with mine yet touch wood)

Swiss clones should be solid enough, you do get problems with them but not that often really

got it!, thank you.
the only thing about quartz moments i heard is they tick rather than sweep?
would the 1887 movement from V6F be an example of the swiss clone you are referring to?

Asian 21J is good and apparently I've heard best value, Asian 7750 is a hit or miss if chrono is at 6/12.

2824 is great , Reliable and silent. I absolutely hate the loud rotors in most A7750, Miyotas, 21J......they make the watch feel so cheap.
