Mont Blanc Star Chrono- how accurate?

Hi guys,

I am planning on getting my second rep. Here's the dilemma- the MontBlanc Star Chrono Limited edition looks superb, but how accurate is it as a rep? If I get it I will send it to FineDD for double AR, so that is no issue. Also are there any good deployant clasps(branded one) and leather straps for it? And is it worth the $400 investment compared to the $250 Panerai 288 superrep? Style is irrelevant, all I am after is good quality/accuracy.

It's accurate as far as the dial and case are concerned, all feature work.
Never seen the gen movement so I can't tell. It has a good presence on the wrist and looks like gen, from the finish point of view.
I prefer it on leather though, and you're right, it needs a better AR. Some dealer have decreased its rice as it's not selling that much. You can get it for less than the 400 USD you mention.

I'm about to find out. I just ordered a white face one and it should be arriving this week. From all i know, all the chronos and dials should be functional. I've also already have a dark brown strap with white stitching waiting to mount onto it.

Actually all features work, chrono/date and GMT.
Now to the buttons : there is one mysterious button between the crown and the upper chrono button that says "date". One would expect that it sets the date when pressed? It doesn't...
Actually it can spin around the crown and will ease the handling of this crown while setting the date and time. Honestly, I don't know how the gen is. I believe that it would be nonsense to put a pusher than only spins around the crown.

So... No, this button doesn't work, but yes it has some use... Maybe the only negative point.

That button is actually a switch. Its flips around from one side to another. Notices how the spacing between the buttons are the same. When flipped around to show the wording "Date" is controls that. Then you'll flip it around the crown (beneath the crown rather than above) it controls the other dials.

I'll definitely post pics when it arrives. I purchased the white faces one. Its slightly whitish/silver from the pictures I've received. Absolutely gorgeous!

On the nrep it flips indeed (thanks for the correct wording), but it really controls nothing.

It is a great watch but you must change the AR - it comes with the blue factory AR.
So it looks with a better AR
