Mods required for 288k, if any?

I've got a 288k on the way (thanks rsea!) and while I'm waiting for it, I'm just doing a bit of research to see if there's any further mods that can be considered for it.

Don't think there's ever been a thread or discussions on modding/ improving the rep - is it really THAT good a rep? Would be happy to hear from the experts and those who already have the 288k. Thanks!

Why mod it when it is one of the best rep to date?

Even the standard rep strap is good enough and there is no need to upgrade to OEM grade croc strap in mu opinion.

The deployant is already at its best.

If you are talking about the movt, the gen uses ETA7753 while the rep uses A7750 and because of this, the chrono push buttons are positioned for A7750. This means that lots of work has to done to get the ETA7753 fit in.

Lume is not too bad but if you like brighter lume, you can check out with any modder here.

The only thing I recommend will be the AR on the crystal. The rep AR is too subtle. It's time you PM Takashi. His AR is really good and almost colorless.

I also recommend to service the movement cos from my experience, lot of A7750 movt came either heavily oiled or almost no oil. Thrown in a few bucks and it will last for a long time.

For a fraction of the gen cost, anyone who got this rep is a happy wearer.

Thanks taiji. Personally, am not concerned about movement, just the visible aspects of the watch. Thanks for the tip on the AR - I thought the AR on the 288 was already colourless (?) like those on the other reps like the 219? Anyway, will keep the AR in mind, then.

yes, it really is that good.

The closed caseback doesn't hurt as well.
Since the movement is likely the primary tell.

Even the stock cartel "lower-grade" strap appears to be a very close match to what you find in the AD.

Hmmm... well, my package has arrived, we'll see about the lume markers when I get home tonight.

Just opened my package, and it's a beauty! No regrets for sure. As bx2vio said, the markers are not glossy - have not actually seen a gen myself, so I wonder if anyone else can confirm this?

Also, am a little worried about the screw down crown. This is my first experience with a modified 7750..... when I'm unscrewing the crown (not even at the day/date positions), I can already feel clicks coming from the movement - is this ok?. Don't remember this happening with my TG V2.

Second issue is in trying to screw it down again - it's really tough. Most of the time, it just won't turn clockwise from the very beginning....and when I'm lucky, it'll turn, but it takes a lot of pressure (unscrewing it, however, is smooth). Anyone else have this problem? It's probably the thread in the crown right?
