Modding dials to fit Noob Daytonas

I have been asked by several members how to modd a dial to fit NOOB Daytonas. As we all know, the subdials of the NOOB Daytonas are too fat, they look like a cheap beach reps, except the white SS. Since my NOOB watches are travelling to me we have done a precurser to verify the process.

Noob and gen dials are 28.6 mm. ARF dials are 29.6 mm. Some 7750 dials from other makers are even bigger. Now to fit a ARF dial on a NOOB case you need to shave it down to the correct size of 28.6 mm. Doing this with a dremmel could destroy the dial because you need to fix it in the middle and you can get scratches or loose paint.

Now what we do is use a piece of brass and cut a pin which has the diameter of the hand hole on the dial. Then use a special glue and glue the dial on the brass. Put it on a lathe and shave the dial to 28.6 mm. Then take the dial of and here we go, just fit it on the NOOB movement and be happy. Attached some pics of the precursor which shows that this is the right method to do this.

Good info! I was wondering how to go about doing this when I build mine. I was going to mount my arf dial to a dremel somehow with epoxy and shave it carefully with sandpaper. I don’t have a lathe. Would you offer this service for us? If so about how much would it cost?
