I'd like to join the massed ranks of ETA 7750 transplantees into a rep:

Following the advice posted on this forum regarding the fitment of Asian hands onto ETA movts (thanks Takashi :) ), I managed to shoehorn the ETA 7750 into my 21k Avenger. Which obviously had the older (wider) second counter hand tube. Everything else went on fine. The stem was a little stubborn when it came to changing the date, but now its settled in.

I also took the opportunity to file down the blobby bezel pearl, keeping my thumbnail between the rider tab and the file....

The closed 4 on the bezel 45 is a bit obvious, but somehow I think it suits the rest of the watch better as there are no other open 4s???

Excellent!!! The older rep is more accurate (bezel). But you have the ultra long Chrono seconds counter. Very worthy mod.

Oh yeah - if you go to the Breitling Home page, the Navitimer with Arabic numerals, have you noticed the silly date font?! Also seen on the Emergency Mission..!

Is this to say that they're really built in China?!!

 Website pictures sometimes are very misleading. You've got the correct second chrono hand length. The older rep comes with shorter hand which is inaccurate for this model.

Superb work. I have often thought about throwing an ETA 7750 into a rep. Diffucult I imagine :?:

Cheers guys :)

I only went down the ETA route as I was fed up of having dicky Asian movts. Sorry to repeat myself, but I must have a lot of bad luck with these.

I don't think its that difficult to swap movts, you just need the right tools and a very, very steady pair of hands!

Hands up all those who spent their youth building model aircraft or cars?! Same type of perseverance I suppose
