i have this carrera (photo attached). I would like to change out the movement and face. I'm happy with the case, crystal etc. Going to an auto with the correct face would be ideal. it has the solid back. Is the 7750 the most economical way to go? where do I get the parts?

Going to an auto? ... sounds like you have a quartz.
If that's the case, you'd probably be better off buying a ready made 7750 watch rather than trying to make your own from a quartz one.
