Hi guys...A question for the pros..can a polished ss case on a pam be modded to look like a semi-polished pvd case?

I don't know about the PVD part. But I have seen someone use some clever sanding to make the case look brushed. Looks real sharp if it's done right.

hmm...i am not sure how but there should be some way of blackening the ss case...i will be surprised if the pros here have not figured out a way to do it yet or maybe no one has thought of it before

The PVD cases, both DSN's and gen PAMs, are beadblasted before they are PVD coated, I believe. However, the gen PAM PVD cases seem to use a finer bead blast than DSN uses, thus giving it a bit smoother/shinier appearance.

I am not sure if Joe (not me, but the modder) is around offering this service, but he can do it for you. It's not too expensive either.

He is talking about RBJ. He offers true PVD service. I don't know what the turnaround time is, but I'm thinking of doing that for a project watch.

Also i will need to do a lume job, crystal replacement, AR besides the pvd...do these modders do all kinds aof mods or are they experts in one or two particular areas? I guess I can ask the modders but if u guys know answer to that then that will be great...i.e point me to a modder who does all ..and who resides in the US.

RBJ *can* do it all, it's just a question of how quickly you'll get the watch back.

I've never used RBJ, but I've talked to him a couple of times and he seems like a really nice guy.
