I can't tell if the new case is Ti or just brushed. Is that bezel bead blasted?

that's good news, could reduce the cost of the Ti reps. And Ti is much harder, so not easy getting scratched out.

Remember this is a 47mm so the oxide comment was closest, but it's not an oxide, it's a PVD coating.

Davidsen has come up with a Titanium Ion PVD that can turn a regular stainless case, (this one was simply brushed) into a TI-looking one. That means costly TI cases can be created without special tooling. I can see a lot of interesting new models coming from this!

Holy crap! You need to talk DSN into making a Ti look 47mm submersible case. The only thing holding me back from a monster PAM225 was the SS instead of Ti, thing.

VERY interesting!

Enzo, could you share more how to do the plastic insert to fill in the indexed make it creamy look. Does this also mean there is no lume on indexed? Thank you.

sorry i am not interested in how you do it.. only i am interested in what you did? i just cannot see anything that looks like plastic inserts and i don't understand what the purpose of them is... i do not need to take anyones "secrets" i have enough of my own.. and i always happily share them with anyone who wants to know. ask vaccum or thumb if that's the cae. the way i see it we are all friends here and i want to help out everyone i can. i have more than enough work as i am always booked for about 20-35 watches per week so i don't need any more knowledge of how to do any mods, i only have so much spare time anyway.. i was simply asking what a plastic insert refers to and how it differs from filling a sandwich dial from the back with lume. if you want to be mr cool guy and hide something that myself or others may not understand.. i don't see why you are so cranky about it. the watch looks good. i am only asking what you mean by plastic inserts... do you have plastic cutouts you place inside the indices or do you fill the dial with lume like i do and call it plastic inserts.. no need for attitude here. just answer a simple question with a simple friendly answer....geez.

filled indice dial:

Flav, I'll guess the sandwich is done not with lume, but plastic lume sheeting. There are some companies that make plastic self stick sheets that are lumed with tritium actually embedded in the plastic material, so that the tritium and the phosphor material are suspended within the sheet plastic. Perhaps Enzo has cut a dial sized piece of this, drilled/cut the hole for the canon pinion and secured this to a brass dial blank then put the the dial on top. It does look thick as the hands seem to be very close to the dial.

This sheet material is usually used in locations where electricity for an exit light is difficult to locate, or an environment where you want to install these and forget about them for ten or twelve years and have zero maintenance.....

Maybe like this stuff....

Way to go Enzo with the PVD, it looks fantastic!

Just my 0.02
