Misaligned datewheel fixable during servicing?

Potentially a dumb question, but is a subtly misaligned datewheel something that can be fixed during a service?

I've got a VSF Aqua Terra that's perfect in every way, aside from a slightly misaligned datewheel. The numbers sit a fraction too far to the left. I'm contemplating dropping the money on getting it serviced, but I won't bother if this isn't something that can be easily fixed.

Hard to say. Quite often it is the way it is printed and can't be fixed. Sometimes a quick and dirty remedy is to rotate the dial a wee bit, but that only makes sense if all dates from 1 to 31 are left justified by he same amount and it might involve cutting off the dial feet, which is also not always desirable.

There is simply no guarantee that a watchmaker can fix this easily.

You could procure a new aftermarket or even genuine datewheel since neither is usually expensive. Question being whether there are proper AT datewheels available.

All the numerals are misaligned by the same small, equal amount. I don't think there's any issue with the printing, it's just that it's been inserted with a tiny offset.

The datewheel does not have much "wiggle room" as it is held in place like a cogwheel. Its teeth will make that the datewheel always 'clicks' into the exact same spot where the spring between those teeth holds it.

Wether a watchmaker, upon opening it, would be able to rotate the datewheel assembly a tiny fraction remains uncertain until somebody tried.

^^ What he said. If the date wheel is printed incorrectly then the dial must be rotated to correct minor misalignment issues. If it's badly misaligned then you need a new DW.
