First of all remove the hand, reset, and place it back in the correct position.
Then start the chrono and reset it again. Repeat some times.
If it moves again later from the correct position then it might be loose on its pinion, so that the high speed of reset makes it to move from the correct position.
In this case you have to remove-and-replace it again, but also squeezing its tube a little, before placing it back.
Else, if the hand now resets ok, try again to let the chrono running several hours, then reset.
If the flaw appears again then yes, unfortunately the movement might be defective, not just a problem with the hand.
