Got this done but wondering what else I can do for it...

Watch case: MBW
Movement: ETA 2846
Dial: Yuki
Hands: Omega Seamaster 300
Insert: Aftermarket from classicwatchparts
Crystal: Watchmaterial
Lug bars: Self made using 2mm marine grade steel bar

Jobs done:
- Drilling lug holes
- Microwelding of steel bars
- Sanding edges of lugs to flatten ends of lug bars
- Reshaping of CG

So what else can I do? Vintage relume of hands? Vintagizing the insert? Case back engraving? Yuki caseback?

Beautiful work!

Maybe an age of the dial (the matt finish some of the guys here put on them look great)?

As others have said, match the hands and dots a little more.

Live the missing pearl, proper bashed in. Seraphe you seen the thread were a member put his case in box of rocks and screws etc, shook up then polished it again. Really looked original, maybe soften lines of case too with dremel?

I'm a bit obsessive with the 5517, but I think the case and dial are awesome. MAYBE bleach the insert A TINY BIT and that is all good.

I am particularly sensitive to the hands. Those are not Seamaster 300 hands (well the seconds hand anyway) as I have gen Seamaster 300 hands on my Seamaster 300 project. I have never seen that seconds hand before.

Anyway, if you search for gens on line, you will see the minute hand just hits the minute track of the dial- it is shorter than the one you have. (mine is too long as well). The hour hand is probably by fine, and I wouldn't mess with it. The seconds hand- that is where you really seperate the great ones from the also-rans. I am defecit in this department as well. The gen seconds hand has a very unique shape. The point is curved (concave) ever so slightly on the outer edges of the tip. There is a very short straight section at the very tip of the hand, and it has a short tail. I modified a seconds hand where I trimmed the tail and shaped the tip to a sharp point. It was still a bit long and I still wasn't happy with it.

I now have a great dial (same as yours) and a set of hands that let me down. I will get back to it again, but for now I just wear it.

That is my well more than two cents!

Herer is mine now
