No doubt as like many before me I'm in love with the Chopard Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono

I'm done quite a bit of research but still feel rather new and don't want to make a mistake.

They all seem to come with a 7750 or A07.211 movement and I read a lot of scare stories.
Are they really best avoided or do you have a positive experience, do they need more regular work and extra special care?

When I contact the dealers is there anything else I should be asking for?

Thanks NIrish

You're good with the 7750 on it, seconds are at 9 not 12, so no worries!
Get it and enjoy - they are fantastic reps! :)

I'm really sorry but I don't really know what you mean by the seconds are at 9?

Would you mind giving me a quick explanation?

The three subdials, the running seconds is located at the middle subdial or where nine o clock is.

this is supposed to be the most safe a7750

with audemars piguet the seconds is up top where 12 o clock is
and with rolex daytonas it is at six o clock which is the most problematic.

I'm still learning the simple things but hopefully I only need to learn once.

Description much appreciated, I've contacted a couple of dealers to see if this watch is still available anywhere.

Is there any room for bartering on listed prices or are there any features I should be ensuring that are included ?

Hi, the A7750 can be as reliable as everything else if You are a little bit lucky and treat it well. Only set date when time is set to 6 o´clock. Make sure chronoseconds are stopped between minute 50´and 10´before resetting with the pusher at 4. (In both cases it´s where the least stress is put on pieces and the gears are running free). The easiest/best way to handle this is to also have another watch, preferably with Asian ETA but You could always try out a cheaper 21j as well. If something goes wrong You´ll have another watch to use. If there is some rotation You put less stress on one watch alone.

No bartering, doesn´t work. Some TD´s recently offer a no-warranty and WU- payment discount but I wouldn´t use it on a first purchase, it complicates things even more and no forum support if it arrives broken.

Can someone help me with a query from a quote I've received from ToroBravo

The watch I have been admiring on the forum has this exposed back
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7299/8745832092_8ed05461fa_b.jpg

but the watch the dealer is offering has a closed back which can be seen in one of these photos on their site
http://www.torobravos2014.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=36_185&product_id=799

Is this a poorer copy of the gen, would it be worth $388 + $45

Some guidance and opinion vastly appreciated !!

The watch with the casebook is a A07.211 version. And the version Toro advertise is A07.211 too. So should be good. You should focus on the movement type and ask the dealer to insure it.

For your info the black dial has a exposed back, the grey don't (I think the white neither, I'm not sure anymore now)
