I too would like to flatten and chamfer the case sides.

I'm not confident about grinding them flat.

Is there a good way to file them flat? (LOL.
The safest way to do it is with a flat hand file at a 45 degree angle to the edge of the lug. to get the shape and then use various grades of sandpaper on a stick to get it smoothed out and then a polishing wheel - once you get a bit more brave you can try a grinding wheel on a dremell but one slip and its trouble lol

Here pictured with the predecessor the 6541 smooth bezel

the size difference is not as noticeable as I thought it would be , between the two.

but just when I thought I was done with the 1019 I stumble across a 38mm case set on alix with drilled lugs and chamfers. Has the general correct shape and the yuki dial will fit. but going to need a fair bit of metal work to get the profile right.

The proportions between the bezel and case look to be good . lets see what I can do with it.
