I'm thinking of building a mickey mouse build, I found the dial from Yuki, do you guys know if he's still selling them? If anyone has any good info on this build I'll be very thankful if you let me know! Cheers :)

It actually uses regular hands, this is what it looks like (but I won't build the two tone).

This is what I have for now:
- dial: yuki
- jubilee bracelet: eBay
- 1601 rep case ?
- 1601 rep bezel and crown ?
- movement that will fit the dial ?
- vintage date wheel ?

If anyone knows the best place to get these parts please let me know!

Thank you :)

Is there a cheap 5500 or 1002 rep out there that will fit this dial? If so what dealer has it? I can't seem to find it...

You can find what you want to build that at rafflesdials.com. Yuki will sell the dial, usually with hands. Email him and tell him you do not want the hands, they will not fit a 28xx clone. You can order a 2836 stainless case set, bracelet, and hands from rafflesdials.com. I have done this 3 times, albeit not with Mickey. For example:

Thank you so much mate!! They don't have the 5500 or 1002 though so I will build a datejust Mickey (http://www.yukiwatch.net/Rolex-Datejust-1601-cute-Mickey-Mouse-dial-p46038254) The hands case and datewheel all say they'll only fit the ETA 2824 though, will they fit the clone too?

I would build the Datejust. The dial will require modification to fit anything ETA. So know the feet will have to be clipped and you will have to figure out how to use dialdots or dial feet to attach. 2824 and 2836 fit everything BUT CASE. So hands/dial fit either. Just buy the right movement for the right case.

If you want specific advice pm me.

So If I buy clone 2836, mickey mouse dial from Yuki and these: https://imgur.com/a/ARdqg

I am good to go? I don't even need to clip the dial feet right?

Dial feet will not fit. They are located (for some ungodly stupid reason) for gen rolex movements. Just a question, have you ever built a watch? I ask because this isn't an easy start.

The Mickey Mouse dials come up on eBay quite a bit. I did a quick search and don't see any at the moment, but I've seen them many times before. Like @NCRich said though, this isn't the best choice for a first watch build.

I did see this on eBay though just now. I like the more discrete Mickey on the dial.

Yes, it would be my first build :) If it's too complicated I might just send it to Zocker and let him build it, the thing is that I'm trying to keep it as inexpensive as possible.

What are the hard steps? I'm thinking overlay replacement, dial fitting, crown fitting and alignment. I think the only thing I wouldn't be able to do is replacing the overlay. Is there anything else that's hard to do?

None of it is really overly difficult, it just takes some practice to get a feel for things. My first few builds I ended up with maybe a little scratch here or nick there, as I was getting a feel for it. I started with Seiko mods, so the parts were fairly cheap. I wouldn't want to damage more expensive Rolex parts, and if this is a watch you really want, then you probably want it as perfect as it can be.

When I'm building Frankens and I have to shim up the dial and other things that may require a little trial and error, I use a beat up old dial and broken movement to test first. Once everything is spaced and lined up right in the case, then I'll assemble the watch with the real parts. That way it all goes together easy on the first try, and I don't risk damaging any of my good parts. The reason I have some beat up dials and broken movements is because I rushed into a few builds in the past myself. :ambivalence:
