I know this sounds rude... many others may feel the same and just don't want to be flamed but..... could we stop with the constant cheerleading on the for sale section? everytime someone posts you see the usual suspects saying what a "great deal" "someone should jump on this" "if I only had the funds but I just bought...."

I would rather see "bump"

I dunno, being relatively new it helps to hear about these things

of course the best deals are already gone by the time I see them...

really??

there are active posters bumping that POS winder saying that it is a great deal.

I really could care less, it is a free market... but I just find it funny that the stips are fairly firm in the sales corner and to let the extra "talk" go on is kind of contradictory.

The stupid questions that are posted to the thread instead of being PM'd bother me the most. I sold a 183 a few months ago for 100 bucks and some asshat asked in the thread: "Is this superlumed? how about the cannon pin, is that an oem strap....". If you are moron that is fine but please be a moron via pm, don't ruin my chances of selling my watch. That has actually died down recently, mostly because there is very little actual watch talk going on for the new posters to read and half-ass learn.

Well, I for one have never bump or cheered a POS/over priced watch for sale. If someone wants to help bump up a buddy's sale or their own post count, who's gonna stop them. Yes, it is annoying but as previously mentioned, many of us look at the pics and the initial thread.

There's the old adage, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

Well...in this case, all these comments are usually in a good sense. It allows the seller to feel good to know that there are people out there paying compliments on the watches they are trying to sell.

If there's a noob that comes through, and has read up a little bit, they might not recognize the differences between the models and the generations of watches. If they see a, "Oooo...this is a great deal!" post they may pull the trigger and help out the buyer.

Let's face it...not everyone gives all the MOST detailed information in their FS threads. So, if compliments are paid to the seller then let them be paid. It doesn't hurt...

I think bumping a sale for a fellow member is a sign of respect and trust and letting potential buyers know that other members respect the sale as well.

uh... most of the time i say "man i wish i had the funds" or "i really wish i can buy this" as a means to make me feel better because i really didnt have the funds?

can a guy not tell the world "HEY i want this watch? but since i'm such a poor bastard, i'm gonna sulk about it cuz i can't really afford it. I'M MISERABLE WITHOUT THIS WATCH, so i'm gonna rant cuz i want attention" (probalby the reason why i became a mod too! muHAHAHaahahaHAH!!!)

Many times i want to post "YOU F*CKER, why you selling this now when i dont have the funds?!?!?" or "can i have it for free?" but sigh... i can't partake in that avenue of barbaric banter.

or, particuarly with eyecandy stuff, i really just want to say "bastard" or "you bastard, with your l33t foto mad skillz" or "nice watch... bastard..."

Ahhhh the envy i have for some of you "bastards."

:)

I think the deal should stand on its own like anything else for sale. You don't go walking around stores, pawn shops or anyplace else seeing little sticky notes from people who had no money at the great deal or big sale. It looks phony.

To bump it strictly for visibility is OK, however the rah rah is like trying to create the excitement the watch and the price did not. You shouldn't need a support group to sell a used watch. Geeez

I don't think anyone has a problem with bumping a sale.... that I see the respect in.... not saying 'wish I had the funds" "guys, someone needs to jump on this"..... that's not respect, that's silly. you consistantly see the same people saying the same things for every sale. I can't be the only one that see that.

And no, It's not a big deal.... just seems silly and childish.

I love the comment about the post-it notes at the store..... LOL

mmmmm maybe that's why some have been here for a couple of months and have thousands of posts.... making them seemingly more respected because they climb the acronum ladder.

Soory... just wanted to vent :)
