Mario paci VS OEM strap 622

I have a PAM 622 incoming and would like to put it on a decent strap. I'm lucky enough to live in a city with multiple OP boutiques as well as dealers that have MP, Gunny etc.

Option 1. Buy any mario paci 26/26 (cheaper)
Option 2. Buy the OEM golden cashmere panerai strap (more expensive)

I have never owned a OEM strap. I have always bought mario paci or had them custom made locally. I do appreciate the substantial feel of a thick 26/26 strap. However I think the OEM strap may really finish off the look of this 622.

Also is there any hoops you have to jump through when buying straps from an OP boutique or can you just walk in buy a strap and leave?

The beauty of owning PAMs, gen and rep alike, is the variety of straps that can be used with the watches. Feel free as you please to select the strap. In fact, some gen owners don't even use their OEM straps for resale reasons.

Il probably stick with the Mario paci then as gen owners of the 622 would probably be saving the original strap for resale as you mentioned. I do see a lot of people around town using the OEM straps but they seem to be just regular people rather than a 'watch person'. I rarely see after market straps on pams.
