I saw this watch posted on another forum. I think it's absolutely stunning and it states it is only 42mm (good for me 'cause I have small wrists). I've tried to find more info on it and believe it was made by a company called RXW (?).

Does anyone know anything about them and where, if anywhere, they can be purchased?

I'm not sure whos pictures these are, but they are stunning and I hope they don't mind me borrowing them. I will remove them if asked.....

They are all over ebay. Do a search for rolex or panerai and they will come up mixed in with the gens.

Whoops, I did some digging here and found what I needed to find. Pretty much I'm S.O.L.

Surprisingly the price is high... I would say; stick to the rep.

I just like that case, with that crown and no CG. Also, I like the non-gold hands.

I wonder if it is really 42mm or if it is 44mm. Wonder if Davidsen could "mimick" this watch, even in a 44mm case. :?

RXW

The story about the RXW Marina Militare made by Ken's Trading company out of japan is legendary on certain forums. Check bigwatchforum.com and do a search. They were extremely nice watches and had a huge following. The 42mm models were the first to come out and are in high demand on the secondary market now fetching $1500+. The later models were 47mm and still turn up for sale on bigwatch and timezone occasionally in the $1000 range. I have not owned one but most owners feel that they rival a gen PAM's quality for a lot less. RXW is still around and makes a PAM like chronograph called a "Plasmir Milgraph" I hear is top notch. Apparently Panerai got the Marina Militare shut down a couple years ago for obvious reasons. Do a google on RXW rock watch and you'll find the current site.

Yep, Davidsen and others sell the MM20 rep. That was the watch that Panerai had squashed. Most likely something around their patented crown guard, as I don't think dial design is copyrighted/patented and I'm sure the words Marina Militare are fair game.

Good looking watches, though! Reportedly VERY high fit and finish and at retail prices FAR below Panerai's 127 and 217.

I dont think I have ever seen a RWX go for more than $200 on ebay.

I guarantee you that those were not gen RXW watches, then. Even the watches in current production like the Plasmir Milgraph sell for $500-1000. River was selling one recently for ~$750, IIRC.

I always assumed that RXW was cheap japan stuff made to like gen stuff. Check out the links in my edit above.
I did not mean to offend any RXW owners.

So the RXW's on ebay are reps, and since no one (or very few) have heard of them they go unnoticed?

you're right.
I have one of the original MM20's made by Ken Sato and I don't think you can get them below $1000.
Check the BigWatchForum.

I can't speak to those Submariner clones, but that 44mm mini-Fiddy is not a gen RXW.

I have RXW's Plasmir Milgraph and the quality is excellent! I really like their addition of micro gas on the hands and dial it really light up the watch throughout the night. It comes with Valjoux 7750, antimagnetic with soft iron core, 100M water resistant. I accidentally drop the watch last month face down on my marble floor! Was afraid to look at at it for second but it survive the fall with not a single scratch! I did scratch the side of the watch though as it scrap against a concrete wall but the scratch is not too deep and I manage to polish it off.

Yes, EBay for sure. Look in the panerai section of watches.
