Greeting panetistitonians !

Ive read a topic that quite a few service your reps. Ive never taken any thoughts on that subject but now that i know that it might increase the lifespan of your watch i started thinking.. Where do i service my replica ?

Ofcourse i wont take it to a AD but is it oke to bring my pam 005 to a standard jeweler which sells and repairs lets say breils and guess watches ..? Wont you have any problems with that or embarrasing comments ?

Please let me know your stories

Why not try the watchmakers/modders on here. There are a few to choose from.

Well, it depends really on where you are located, whether you can trust a watch maker in your area or whether you feel comfortable sending your watch to get serviced by one of the watchmakers here.

Also, you should weigh the cost of servicing vs. buying a new rep. Perhaps it might prove more cost effective to just purchase a new rep (e.g. if your rep is outdated, too many issues to repair, etc.) as servicing could be expensive (relative to the cost of buying a new version).

As the previous poster mentioned, go to the watchmaker/modder section and PM one of them with your inquiry.

I spent a day calling a ton of little mom&pop watch smiths around town and began by asking if they serviced watches. Most all will always say yes. I then will bring up that the movement is in a replica watch. My first few smiths actually just said they do not service replica watches to which I said thank you and hung up. I finally came across one watchsmith who said he does work on reps but can not guarantee his service on them and that if parts are needed, chances are I'd be out of luck. When I asked how much he charged he said he never charges more than $30 tops for any type of service on a replica as the movements tend to be cheaper and they do not warrant the same prices gen movements fetch. I took one PAM to him for basic time regulation and he did it quickly for super cheap. His work was stunning and I began to trust him and everytime I bring a watch to him we chat about replica movements and it seems the more I took to him the more he knows about them so I've built a great repor with him.

All that to say, call around and ask if they work on reps. if they say yes, bring one in for a minor service and see the quality of the work they do. If it is acceptable, continue to bring to them and build a trust. If not, as stated before, there are plenty of watchsmiths on the forum that'll definitely do the job and do it well.

It is ok to bring your rep to any of your local watchsmith near you, nothing to feel embarrass with. Just let them know up front that your watch is a fake one, if they are willing to fix it for you, let them give you a quote if not just take back your watch and move on.

Alternatively, we do have a list of trusted watchsmith here which can fix it for you but you will have to wait a much longer time for it to be done.

Thanks for the great advice guys as ecpected. Ima try to call up some smiths in advance rather than lose my watch for a longer period of time as its much easier to fire up your car and bring it to one.

Now on to my last question. Is it possible for the smith to notify the authorities? I am located in the Netherlands and most of the Dutchies tend to stay on the legal side of business.

If you are going to any independent watchsmith which are not related to any of the watch company, I don't think they will go to the extend to report you to the authorities or the watch company, most likely they will just tell you they don't fix fake watches.
