Hello.
I have been working on this for the last couple of weeks and I think it's about time to reveal it to the world of RWI!
I purchased a 605 rep from the gate recently. It turned up and apart from a few fairly minor flaws, I was very impressed with it. So much so, I ordered a second one in order to use it as a project. One of the flaws was the case markings state "372", so therefore this is now a 372 style custom build.
This is a photo of the original base watch from the gate...
Now, to be fair, I haven't actually done too much to the watch overall.
Basically I removed the movement, hands and dial. Then set about changing the appearance to the dial. First I gently sanded back the finish of the dial to the bare metal with 1200grit paper. I then took a miniature soldering torch to it!
Using heat alone, I was able to produce a fantastic iridescent finish. The writing inlay (previously yellow) actually turned white from the heat, which was what I was going to redo it in anyway, so all in all I got my desired look without too much hassle.
Popped it all back together, stuck it on a custom thick and soft leather strap from SP71, and we have the below results! I call it the "PAM372 Galactic" What do you guys think?
