lurker/newb ready to join "The Dark Side"

Hello ladies and gents,

I had been lurking around the various sites for a little while. I decided to register here because of the friendly nature of the threads that I have read. Well, here is my story; I have quickly gone from one who just wore a watch for time keeping purposes to a certified watch freak. I do have one gen that a friend gave to me as a bday gift. I am ready to start collecting. I plan to pick mostly reps, but some gens along the way too. I have picked up lot's of good info on this board. Dealers you will be hearing from me in the next couple of weeks. Good day to all, and please welcome a newbie with what flames, jokes, or what ever the hazing is. :lol:

Welcome! Actually the hazing thing is best conduted by a new member.. you haze the high post count oldtimers in the flame free zone, and judge if they have the right stuff or not!

That may workout. I am searching through the dealer listings as we speak. Trying to figure out what my first purchase will be. I was very close to pulling the trigger on a PO at my local AD this week. I thought... hmmm, let me go back and take a look at the "Ultimate" one more time. I have a buddy's gen PO and I must say the "Ultimate" is pretty close to perfect. He doesn't know why I really borrowed it. He thinks I wanted to show the old lady one so she'd know what to get me as a gift. I really like the Breitling divers too. Especially the Super Avenger, but it may be too big for my wrist.

I am thinking of purchasing two. One will definately be a black bezel, black dial PO "Ultimate". The other could be a black bezel, black dial Sub, or uhh... shoot, so many options. Super Avenger, if it's not too big on my wrist.

Many thanks to all of you. I am having a blast. Well, outside of trying to figure out what to buy first. The UPO is a must, but what else. I want to get two so I have the option to choose every morning... kind of silly huh?

Where did you see the Super Avenger rep? Been looking for that one.

I thought I saw it on Josh's site. Not sure though, I have been looking through all of them. 49mm may be too big for me. I think I am going to TRY to narrow it down to...

1. Superocean Steelfish
2. IWC GST (does anyone know the case size on the rep?) I think it's 43mm
3. I am not really a Rolex fan yet... but I guess everyone should have a Sub... right?
4. Mont Blanc Time Walker Chrono
5. Or maybe one of the Pams... there inlies another problem... which one?

As you can see I am "hooked". This will be an adventure.
