What would the lume on a gen L-swiss-L 001 look like now? They'd be 9 years old now so I was wondering if a relume with Super Luminova would be overkill or not?

So any ideas as to what kind of reluming should be done on one of these to make it look closest to the gen?

Thanks

first there are no L-Swiss-L just L Swiss L

second the first batch of L Swiss L is 1999, so 7 years not 9 years

thirdly, if I have a gen, I would not relume it IMHO and for luminova they will not become yellow or orange color as the T dial

if u have a T Swiss T or T-Swiss-T rep dial, u don't need to relume, u should relume the hands only to make the contrast, i.e. non-matching and the dial should be a bit of yellow/orange color.

I think Ziggy/RBJ/Finepics can do this.

to make it look closest to the gen is to let it aged, don't relume.

After all I'd read, I just had a feeling that the 001 "L SWISS L" dial lume that comes on the rep might have been too weak, yet a relume might be too much.

So is there is a definitive "yes, relume" or "no, don't relume", when it comes to a rep 001 L SWISS L dial?

Thanks for the tips

luminova doesn't age like tritium. It's a stable non-radioactive product. So the indicies won't change colour like the earlier vintage and pre-v dials. Nor should the glow effect age that quickly. Super luminova came out around the first part of the 90's so I wouldn't worry if you want a SUPERlume look on a watch model that is from that era.

Whether or not those dials would be done with luminova vs superluminova ... I don't think either choice would be bad. If you leave it to people's perceptions, then I'd go with the brighter look. Even if it isn't 100% accurate, it would give a better "perception of accuracy."

ie. The brighter the glow on a Luminova dial, the more people are going to respect it.

Ditto.........my thoughts exactly.
