lug screw stuck

Just received a used 390 yesterday and I wanted to swap out the strap for the Bronzy that I purchased a while back. The screws on this one is stuck and I don't want to strip the screw head more than it already is. I tried heating the threaded end with a soldering iron as well. The straps that are on there now have a metal tube so I can't use pliers to grip the screw.

Anybody have any tips?

Thanks!

(Mods sorry if this has been covered before.. I couldn't find anything in the archives)

Glad to hear you got the 390, sorry you are having an issue with the lugs. How do you like the Gunny strap that came with it?

If you are going to change the strap, try with the pliers crashing the tube and buying from Panatime new tubes and screws.
If you protect the strap with a cloth you will not even damage the strap.

Heating the bar will expand it more thus making it tighter! You want to heat the case.......well no you shouldn't. ;)

I was only able to get one off and it seems that it was cross threaded from the start. I feel so jipped. Should have known not to deal with that seller after he dupped you.

I'm not having any luck at all with the second one. I have 3 options at this point, cut the spring bar with a Dremel and a cutting disk, than remove the stupid strap bar so I can grip the threaded part with a small locking pliers....

Or drill out the threaded side (I'm worried about this method)... Or get a new frickin case and transfer the movement over....

Damn it!

I would try cutting the bar 1st. Sorry you are having such a hard time with it.

The lug screw issue might have been why he skipped over me for you. I asked him to change the strap to the black Gunny he had on the 026 he was selling, he said he would. But when he couldn't, he new I wouln't be happy when he sent me the watch on the original strap. So he sold it to a seller that didn't want the switch out, unfortunately that was you.
