Hello friends, I have recently found myself getting interested in improving some of the watches I currently own. One of those being one of my first watches, the 🎹"Piano" dial 5711 🤍

AFAIK, flaws for this model include chubby bezel and case shape, I believe the lugs are pulled down further then gen not too sure, and of course the pitiful DW.

Within the last couple days I have acquired the following (bought still waiting for them)
1.) BUFF Black Handset
2.) BUFF Date wheel
3.) Reinforced crown stem (drop in gen stem replacement)

My stock 3KF's hands are honestly very dull, I think the indices are slightly brighter. I'm kind of aware that if I put these buff hands on my 3KF dial that they will be "mislumed" but I would take brighter hands any day at the sacrifice of the equality of lume. At least I'll be able to read it in the dark lol.

So my point/question is what are some other mods that I can do that aren't too expensive? How much is it to have a CNC case made? I honestly personally don't see much more need to improve except a bracelet/case refinish (if I'm gonna get a CNC case then no point now) and maybe if I could have the indices relumed to match the hands better.

Also been debating on a Tiffany stamp but that's legit bottom of my priorities, I think it's something like $200 which is hard to justify to the old lady.

Are there other things I am missing? Thanks in advance friends and experts alike

Recessing (trimming) the protruding crown.

Recessing (trimming) the protruding crown.
I have heard of this , however I have always attributed it to only being available as "CNC case"

Are you saying it is potentially more affordable/possible to actually send the watch itself to a machinist for them to trim the crown? Isn't that work done with either a lathe or CNC?

How much is a ball park estimate for a project like this? Are there added benefits of possibly paying (a little?) more for a whole CNC case?

Thanks for the great suggestion as well as any info and expertise you can give:)

Crown recess mod should cost much less than a CNC case. If you'te happy with your current case then it may not be worth going down that rabbit hole imho.

I have no issues with stock 3KF case for most part , just bezel and CG the lugs are fine to me honestly. Thank you for this:) I will be sure to add this to my list of mods
