Low beat vs high beat balance compatibility

Anyone ever try if a high beat balance assembly will work in a low beat movement? I have an old low beat but need to replace the balance. I can only find a local source for a high beat.

Are the wheels different sizes?

Yessir...you would need more that the balance wheel to make the movement work properly and tell time well.

What low beat movement needs a new balance?

My cousin has an old watch and dropped it. Hairspring balance wheel jewel popped out and the hairspring bent . I can't fix that but I can replace the whole balance bridge.
