Wow that watch is about as unappealing as anything I've ever seen

one thing ive wondered

Is there really a dude named mario paci who makes these straps and watches?

if so he should get back to making straps

Can i start my own brand of knockoff officine panerai straps and watches?

I will come up with an Italian name like Massamiliano Pignato and label all my watches MP

Yes there is really a Mario Paci. He was the head engineer for for Panerai for several years prior to OP being bought by the Vendome group. How involved is he in the strap and watch business, I don't know. He *is* affiliated with TCStraps/Mario Paci on a professional level, however.

Those watches definitely are not my taste, but I love MP straps!

B - glad to see you posting again, pal!

The radiomir crown doesn't really match well with the luminor case does it? However, that is not as bad as the 4/8/12 dial markers. It just doesn't sit well with the dial, nor does the font.

As it had a 2824 could have at least put a date window on it and for 2500 could have at least dlc'd rather than pvd. Wonder if they'll sell all 150.. maybe at $250.

EDIT: added pic in case link disappears one day

No I don't believe MP himself is involved in productions of these poor puppies.

To me it appears a Chinese maker was given a brief to create a watch that should bear some resemblance to Panerai yet be different in appearance so he couldn't be blamed for plagiarism. Remember the RXW story? The result is shown above, as you can see there's no Panerai nor any decent Italian military/diver watch DNA in it.

IMO, this is just appalling, and for it to come from a very well known and respected persona in Panerai world is just something I fail to understand, sorry.

Quick buck? Maybe...but I'm yet to see the proof he actually sells this watch beyond 001/150 mark ;-)

Stick to the strap making MP, you're still holding the fort there!

Hooligan, good to see you're still here as well, cheers brothers!
