Allegedly the XF Factory was the only making the left handed Tudor Pelagos. I've been looking for one since June. Anyone know if XF is open again or If I can source from another factory? ZF is only offering Right Handed crown in blue and black :-( thanks-mog

Howdy Max,

I've contacted Hontwatch, Toro Bravo, Clean, Trusty Time- pretty much everyone who had access to XF Factory. ZF is making RHD Pelagos...but I'm left-handed.

I've found a solution to my problem though... I'm selling my 1977 Omega Moonwatch and 1990 Breitling Chronomat to fund the Gen LHD Pelagos I ordered last week.

The dealer (from Jomashop for $3995.) managed to find four of them- mine was the third order in line- and as Tudor stopped production in 2019, they are on their way to becoming aa rarity as it seems they have no plans going forward for other LHD Builds.

I built a pretty darn good Rep of the vintage Tudor Snowflake handed Submariner and reversed the internals to make it a LHD... prob the only LHD Sub I'll see. It became my favorite 'Everyday' watch so I wanted a 'best clone avail' which was the XF.

Who knows? Perhaps XF will open again...

Best regards and hope you can resolve your "Watch fix" for one :) -mogwan

Had a punt on an LHD from DHgate and the seller came up with the below QC pics. Quality, obviously, looked horrible and bracelet and clasp were black bay versions rather than Pelagos.

Seller was fine to issue refund based on QC pics so no loss though it does beg the question that if the parts (dial & date wheel) are out there, are there just no factories to refine them and they are being cobbled together with other mismatched parts?

Arthur1,
My GEN arrived last week. Love it... the color-fit & finish rival any watch I've owned. My Omega 1977 145-020 78 Speedmaster Moonwatch is out getting a new Hesalite crystal then off to a new owner. when looking at the GEN pics, note that 'in real life' the color of the lume is quite sublime and the square indices appear to have a faint yellow boundary line around each one and the face
looks almost exactly like the darker face shot- and the 'pebble grain' is not really visible... it's just there to give the face a very black matte appearance and a bit of color contrast to the bezel insert which is a dark charcoal grey. The bracelet took me about 10 minutes to figure out and to realize the following: after you remove links to size the bracelet, there are three 'finer' adjustments that can be made using the bracelet clasp. the other adjustment for the bracelet clasp Is just a 'temporary' resizing that allows you to temporarily add approx 1/2" 3/4" to the bracelet length if you want to wear it over a wetsuit.

Beautiful and I would have gone the gen route if I hadn’t bought the BB925 instead. We make choices I suppose when it comes to the gens! Will keep an eye out on the sales boards in hope of the rep coming up.

Arthur, the BB's are beautiful. I assume they have a substantial amount of titanium in the build? One of the members here advised purchasing a Japanese 'Sand Eraser' from Amazon to remove minor scratches from the bracelet, etc. he is watch guy, restorer and polisher. He says the sand eraser's grit will match the grain of the titanium.
