Have a question. I am kind of new on here but have been doing watch repair for 45 years. I have now started my own watch brand with a long preorder list already. I am having a really bad time getting the right watch case & bands. China is terrible, at least the ones I have been dealing with so far. Does anyone recommend a case company out there? Another good thread to read to understand where RWI comes from and some fundamentals is this:
Most of the information you need to know to start is there. If you're preparing to buy, read the stickies before ordering. When you're finished, you can continue learning by reading the stickies in all remaining sections. If it's stickied, it's important information.
If you intend to sell, read the sales rules and all stickies in the sales section with particular care and make sure you understand each single rule. Sales rules infraction is taken very seriously here. As a new member you are not eligible to sell. Using the sales section is a privilege, eligibility must be earned, make sure you know and understand how.

China isn't terrible, you just need to understand China and preferably speak Chinese or have an agent who does,
If they don’t have what you order, the substitute something else instead. They make it difficult to order by putting minimums on what you can order and their products are not great quality.
Alibaba then?
Your probably talking to some third party who’s trying to source what you want and earn commission it’s very common on alibaba
I tried to send some custom case designs before and the communication wasn’t great and they tried to fob me off with something similar that was already available (much less effort)
I think the way forward is to fly out there and speak to some factories and take your designs with you. I once spoke to Dan Henry, their watches are also china made, his advice was also to visit a handful of factories and take away some quotes and you can see the quality of their work first hand
Obviously there are great quality products since most of the microbrands come out of china along with genuine parts for the Swiss brands.. your just not talking to any of them yet or your order is probably too small to interest them

Usually there are agents who work in companies (based in Hong Kong and Shenzhen) that does the middleman work of connecting you to the Factories to do such stuff.
You can try and search around.
