Hi,

New RWI member here. I'm looking for an Omega Speedmaster Professional replica. Love the look of the Speedy but I'm only a college student so a genuine model is out of the question.

Not interested in anything with a quartz movement. Looking for something mechanical with a functional chronograph. I understand some of the Japanese movements don't support this functionality but most of the Swiss movements are out of my price range. Looking to spend around $200.00, maybe closer to $300.00 if I have to.

Found this, but I'm not sure how reputable the site is.

Anyone have any input on this? Thanks in advance!

Firstly, welcome to the forum.

Most advice you get here will tell you to stick with the trusted dealers on this forum, or in my experience the member to member sales. Use the search function to research more about movements but you might find that most are Asian. I've heard the A7750 can be erratic in terms of reliability so maybe a Quartz is the way to go for you especially with the budget you mention. Also read all of the threads on the omega board here http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=23
You'll learn a lot by reading about the fortunes and misfortunes of others. Good luck with you search for the right speedy.

Thanks for your helpful reply.

I didn't see Holly Watch listed under the dealers page so I did a bit more browsing with this in mind. For sure a quartz movement would be more reliable, but it takes away from the character of the watch in my opinion.

Came across this in my price range and it looks pretty accurate. Seems to have a properly functioning chronograph as well driven by a Lemania movement. Any input?

IMHO, none of the rep captured the original moon watch look. Most common issue is chronograph too far apart, also the shortened markers on 3, 6 and 9 (normal on automatic version, but not the professional version). If you go for quartz, that will be a dead give away it is a rep.
Thus... I am still searching for that perfect Speedmaster pro rep also... :cry2:

The struggle is real.

I definitely noticed the chronograph spacing, but it doesn't look too bad if you just want something that captures that Speedmaster "look." The lugs seem to be another aspect some replicas don't quite capture - the rounded curve.

Looks like MarvelousReplica is on vacation, but I've read good things about him on this website. I'll let you know how this goes.
