Looking for a good 116508 rep

Hi everyone

I'm new here and first time dabbling into the rep watches world. Am keen to find a 116508 but there are many options ! Would like to seek advise from the folks here on which factory they had good experiences with.

Why don't you tell us first which ones you found and what you learned about them/what doubts you have on them? Would help to get more precise answers.

Thanks for tha tag @Feefo, I would like to start by saying that whilst I do love Daytonas and frankly obsess over them day to day, I am by no means an expert on the subject, and there are plenty of other members on the forum more knowledgeable than I.

Now to answer your question, I would need a little more info as to what exactly you are after, and what your budget is?

If price isn't an issue and you really want the best of the best, I don't think to many would object to Clean as being your main option. BTF also produce some great quality Daytona reps but I think that Clean's more gen like YG plating and (imo) superior dials makes them the obvious choice out of the 2. I have a Clean 116518ln black dial on a custom leather strap that I absolutely adore, and have owned the 116518ln with the gold dial/black subdials which is honestly one of the best rep Daytonas I have ever owned OTB.

There are a couple of mid range options available however these are all based off of the A7750, which from experience is not a great movement for the Daytona, they are prone to failure, chrono does not work like gen and the case is a little fatter too. If the 116508 is a watch you really want to own then I think spending the extra to get a Clean version is absolutely worth it. BTF as a viable second choice if you can get a good deal on one.

The only issues I have had with reps so far were either with A7750s or with movements based on the A7750, none of them were Daytonas, by the way. I think I'd modify your statement with leaving out "Daytona".

It's simply a slightly shitty rep movement, period.
