Looking for a first Tag

Hi all,

I'm looking for my first Tag, which would be my second rep. Now, I don't want to spend 400$ for a rep just yet so, I found a few one that interest me but, I need advice on the quality of these, not as much as perfection as more of a qc quality and somewhat durability.

First one:
http://www.tswatch.club/13236-tg237...8800bph_dda8e2dfdb2edfa21cb3e11033d2bd81.html
This one I like a lot. Its very sporty and "under the radar", if you know what I mean. I really love the new v6 1887 with the gray dial but feels too flashy... I don't think I could pull this one off. I've compared it to the gen and it looks quite similar. And I really love the look of the strap. I just wonder about the quality. There's not mention of the factory. You can check the Qc pictures at the bottom of the link (pics are much better).

Next up:
http://www.tswatch.club/15713-tg157...an-7750_d3a7532a483e126ba226c9467fd8f13e.html
The Monaco Grand Prix, with a twist. I say twist because it feels like the just painted the new anthracite color on an old dial. The markers are off compared to the gen; there should by 2 slimmer markers at each position. Also, not much of a fan of the tire strap but, overall, it just looks good.

And last:
http://www.tswatch.club/15713-tg157...an-7750_d3a7532a483e126ba226c9467fd8f13e.html
This Carrera looks better on video than in the pictures. Looks really close to the gen and, it's from the V6 factory which I trust (owning one of their Omega crpo). Not as sporty as the 2 others but looks really nice (in blue of black).

So, could I get some help on deciding please! ;) If any of you own one of these, pls post some wrist shots.

Thanks!

Hey,

My first rep was going to be a Carrera, in fact the Monaco that you included.

Then, I saw the 1887 (grey dial) but wanted to test the water with a cheaper one, so got a space x. They only did quartz at the time, but it still gets wrist time.

I would say that compromising isn't the way to go with me, I have bought two more 'cheaper' reps - but I keep coming back on and looking because I've still not got the watch I want!

Have you also seen the bullhead jack heuer from Ts, I think it's about $350. That's the one for me!

I am no expert in Tags, but I just suggest you do some research. I have heard that the Asian 7750's are time bombs. Maybe things have changed, but I just wanted to make sure you were aware of that possibility. LOTS of threads on them! Good luck.

What do you mean by time bombs? I did a bit of reading prior to purchasing my own and was led to believe that providing you don't adjust the time/date at certain positions among some other small tips for general maintenance, then the A7750 would be fine. However, I am no expert!

That said, mine has been faultless for months now

As I said, I'm not well-versed on these. However it seems they are quite prone to malfunction if one were to believe all the posts. I believe the Lemania (ST-19) if not the same is the more reliable movement. If you looked into it this already then great.I just didn't want you to not be informed in case...

I have a 7750 TAG. As long as the running seconds are at 9 (ie not modified) then it should be fine for a good while unless you're unlucky. Just follow the info on here for 'taking care' of a 7750 and you should be fine these days, they're better than they used to be

I gotta say this watch is an absolute stunner - you just made me buy one - cheers.

Have you personally used any of the chronograph functions successfully or do you avoid it as to not take any risks?

Just trying to find out how reliable the 7750 is in the Tag? Also with regards to servicing, if it something that you can do yourself if you know what your doing, with a bit of help obviously. If just ordered my first Tag from Ryan at InTime and was just wondering about the a7750 movement. Any help would be appreciated.

I just couldn't decide on which one to get and got a good deal on IWC LPP 377706 from Toro, so the Tag will have to wait a little. That 1887 looks damn good kevyo89.... I wonder how it would look on a rubber strap.

From what I've read, it is very reliable, as long as you use the chrono with care (there's a post in the movement section detailing everything), and get it serviced.

Hi,

I was very excited and happy with my first tag - Carrera White Dial 7750, unfortunately just for a week or two. Got it serviced - still no luck. Brought it back to the person, who serviced it the first time. Hope he will be able to do the magic, otherwise totally dissapointed with $300 rep + $200 servicing fee for a total of $500 for a non-working toy.
Of course that was just my luck .. I guess.
