Yes but I don't want the 7750 movement.
Then you don't want a chrono.

so thats the only movement you get in a rep chrono??

What about a non chrono Breitling white face.
Have you seen any with swiss or quartz movements?

It's not the only movement you get in a rep chrono, but it's the most correct.

If you wanted this watch in Swiss, it'd be about $650 and if you wanted it in Quartz, it'd be instantly spotted as a replica.

The problem is that you've read too much into the 7750-fear-hype. A watch like this will usually either be perfectly good or will die very quickly, if it has a fault. If it doesn't show faults in the first week, it'll run for years.

The weakness of the Asian 7750 is nowhere near as bad as you'd expect reading these boards.

Well as a newbee that makes me feel better about getting one..:)
the stuff i was reading was making me think that if i don't have it serviced ($100-$$200) it would die on me.
So if you buy from a good dealer and it dies ib the first week or two then you should be able to get a new one i would hope

do you have one??

This is where the irony kicks in. :D

I bought a white-faced Navitimer and it died in its first week. The dealer is replacing it.

As for other 7750s, I have an IWC GST Chrono, but had that serviced, and I have a Panerai 196 with a Swiss 7753 movement in it. Oh, and an unserviced allegedly-fragile IWC Portuguese Chrono that seems to be running perfectly well.

I like the first one but I would like it with a leather strap.
I would just be bummed if I spend $200-300 ON A WATCH AND IT DIES.
I have two bulova's and they run great. One is a chrono quartz.

But I guess its the nature of the beast buying rep's right?

They don't usually die. Oh, and I have a black leather strap for that one, but not in that photo. I didn't get a chance to photograph it much before it got sent back.

Excuse the low quality of the photo:

I would like to add my .02. If you are going to buy a Navi rep, get it on the SS bracelet from the dealer, then buy an aftermarket strap, like a black leather Bob strap and deployent. The SS is much more accurate from the dealers and the Bob strap look really close to gen, and most of the time there is no difference in price.

Good advice.
