Howdy all,

I really like the look of the 243. I have read a lot on the forum here and appreciate the information everyone has shared to make pulling the trigger easier. I have a question concerning the durability. This will be my first rep and I intend for it to be a daily beater. I am currently wearing a Citizen Nighthawk. Can I expect similar durability?

Thanks for your help.

Give it a service by a watchsmith (TD) and my guess is you'll be fine. Remember you pay just a fraction of retail price. My first rep was a PAM196 with A7753 movement. Is still running after 4 years with no service at all and being a daily beater. I even did some serious construction work at my home with it . Now I really take care of my reps. I have 4 and 2 coming in.

Best of luck!!

24 months ago nobody thought a first PAM rep could be this good/accurate/affordable. Get it while is available and make sure is the Noob version..., add a nice strap of your choice and BAM!, you'll be surprised my friend.

Durability is really luck of the draw. Would not compare to gens like citizen or Seiko, which are built to survive a nuclear bomb. Don't get me wrong tho, the rep PAMs and movements are work horses and very nice

Out comes my tape measure...
Lol, haven't measures yet, but tried a 44mm gen a few weeks ago and that was JUST on my acceptable line!

When you buy your Citizen watch, did the sales person give you any assurance that the watch will definitely have no problem and you don't even need the warranty? I doubt so, even gen watch might have a possibility to have a manufactured malfunction. So when buying gen or rep, luck play a bit part of it i believe.

If everything goes well, these rep watch can also last you for years like a gen watch does.

How reliable is the Asian 7750? I am worried about spending $300 on a watch that isn't easily repaired. Apparently the local watchmaker that is rep friendly won't touch an asian 7750...

What about 111? I like 243 but mostly it doesn't suit with my office clothes. =(

The PAM111N Noob V3 is also a great choice which will go great with office attire. Although I've worn the PAM243 with my sleeves rolled up just fine with a nice leather strap. ;)
