Meet him for coffee and shame him in to smashing it with a hammer. Big Raji style.

Just be safe...notice the CL ad is from Detroit. Quite a bit different than where Raji's from.... somewhere in Canada right ? haha!

Not downtown Detroit. He emailed back and is in a decent local area. He said someone is looking at it tomorrow at 3:30. I offered him $3500.

I will get more info from him about where he claims he got it, why no papers/box, if he will meet at a jewelry store, etc...

Unbelievable

Ha! He doesn't want to "hold" it for me because I might end up not wanting it and he already has a meeting set up with some other unsuspecting schmuck.

He may catch on if I bombard him with questions. I bet the other guy bails. Will have to wait and see.

Funny you guys should feel so indignant about such scams when members from gen forums feel the exact same way about us dealing with rep watches.

For all you know, poor guy could be needing the monies to make ends meet and out of desperation, resorted to such means.

Its not him that ought to be taught a lesson, it's the potential buyer that needs to learn an expensive lesson.

This is sort of saying it's okay to rob a person because that person is desperate, the victim should be more careful.

I think this topic has been brought up before. My take on it is that it keeps taking any saving grace from our hobby as legit and shoves it in the same category as robbing a bank. I am not saying he cant sell the watch, just that he should do so as a known rep. He would be commiting a felony if he steals over $1000 from somebody for it, grand larceny. That is when it becomes wildy inappropriate. Yes, buyer beware always.
