Hey guys! Someone is selling this 116518 Racing Dial YG Daytona on my local classified ads. Price is 3600 (instead of 36k). He insists its a GEN.

What do you think? He offers PayPal as payment method - could cut the risk down significantly?

Thickness wise it could have a 7760 movement

IMO, if it comes with box and papers it's probably a safe bet. That doesn't mean it's not a rep, but I tend to buy the seller, not the watch. If the seller seems like someone who would own such a watch, seems like a decent guy and his story lines up... along with having box and papers, then I'd buy it if I thought it was worth it.
I've bought watches without box and papers, but the seller's story always sounded plausible, the price was always right and the seller was always someone I'd associate with outside of a sale.

Yea, that's a very good point! The seller isn't really keen on sharing any information which makes me think it's rather stolen or some sort of franken. Could of course also be a bait and switch since shipping it was the only option for him.

Yeah, "shipped only" is a major red flag. Personally, I'd pass.

There are ways of finding out more about the watch and seller, but at this point I wouldn't bother.

Just did a quick search using that first picture and it's been taken from Ebay. This is a scam for sure. You'd probably end up with a DHG rep... or worse, something from Wish.com
