Little help please with Steve from The One Watches

Hello Forum,
I'm looking for some help regarding a financial matter with Steve from the One Watches. I placed an order with Steve and Paid via Wise on February 3/23. Received a "Transfer successfully sent" on February 6/23 by Wise.

I verified his payment instructions on 2 different occasions. One before I hit the send button and the other time was yesterday. He claims the information is correct and that he still has not received the funds.

Anyone else experience this?

What can I do?

You sent the funds on a Thursday. It’s currently the weekend and such transfers can take several business days to settle. Nothing to worry about as of yet.

Are you 100% sure you're dealing with the correct Steve?

Scammers have replicated our TDs websites and impersonate them.

Please post the URL and email / contact details you have been liaising with?

Please do not post any bank details etc.

I've also been speaking with him on WhatsApp at +86 170 8193 4955
This was not my first experience with Steve, I dealt with him back in June 2022 and everything was smooth.

That's very strange so.
Wise to Wise is normally instant.
Longest to a bank account for me was a few days.

Hopefully @steve_theonewatches can resolve this with you.

thanks...is there anything I can do on my part with Wise, or once the transaction is complete there is no recourse?
meaning recalling the funds or putting a trace on it.

Do not try recall it, I'm not even sure you can, but let's not go there.

In the Wise app, you click on the
transaction/payment
click details,
then download transfer receipt

That generates a PDF containing redacted payment info. I would recommend sending this to him, via PM and via WhatsApp if that is the method he has been using to communicate with you. That is your proof a payment has been sent.

Please also check that the beneficiary/payee is set up exactly as he specified, not one digit out.

If those details match the details he doubly confirmed with you, then his issue and he needs to resolve.

It's been 18days as of yesterday and still claiming he has not received the funds.
Does not seem normal?

Sorry, when I responded earlier I had misread your post. I thought you sent the funds on Feb 23 (e.g. this past Thursday).

Since you sent the funds on Feb 3 and got a notice of settlement on Feb 6, something is definitely wrong.

Ok thanks.
I did download the PDf receipt yesterday and have a copy on hand. I sent him the payment info and he confirmed it was correct. Under your advise I will send him the PDF version and wait for his reply.

Thanks for the feedback and will post any updates.

Steve responded to me with the following:

" we checked with the bank, the payment have not in our account"
"sorry could you please contact wise service to return money back to you"
"maybe something wrong here"
"sincerely sorry for the inconvenience"

Should this be my responsibility since he gave me and confirmed the payment information?

Any further help on this would be grateful

He can probably do nothing his end.

Am curious on the process with Wise, so when you contact them, and progress things, please update the thread as to the steps.

I sent an email to Wise and they responded with the follow:

Thanks for contacting Wise!

I checked your transfer xxxxxxxxx — it was sent out successfully from our end on 06 February.

Some banks take longer to process payments. They may close early on some days, process transfers only in the morning, or run their security checks. This is normal, but hard to predict.

Check your recipient’s bank details/email address are correct. If you’ve made a mistake, don't worry — their bank will send the money back to us and we'll let you know when it arrives.

If the details are correct and the money hasn’t arrived, they may need a transfer receipt to find the money.

The transfer receipt will be attached to the email address. For future reference, I will also include a link on how to download it from our website and or app.

If the recipient couldn't find your payment, ask your recipient to send a bank statement from the day your transfer was paid out until the current date.

We’ll need to see:

Their full name

Account details

Bank’s name and logo

All transactions from 5th of February till today

Let us know if you have any questions. We're happy to help!

I have sent Steve the following request to provide bank statement from the 6th of February to current day.

Once I requested his banking info he managed to confirm he did receive my money. Call it a happy coincidence.
I did cancel my original order as the watch I wanted was taking a very long time to come in with QC pics. I reordered a new model but still waiting for QC pics. Not sure I would use him again for any of my future purchases.
