Hi,

Last week I bought a lovely PAM 127 from Robert at T4D.

I just have a question about how long it will last.....I mean it's a manual wind watch so how do I look after it?

Eg, is winding till it doesn't go any further bad for the watch?...and should it last for years and years if looked after properly?

Any experience welcome

Wind it until it gets tight. You will know. I normally do 40 turns a day.

With a service you should see a good 4-5 years on it and then another service (around 100USD) and it should keep ticking as long as you take care of it!

40? You are totally out of your mind? It's 37! No more, no less. Thirtyseven! [crazy look] (Call me neurotic, but the fact is that I HAVE to wind it EXACTLY 37 times. God knows what would happen unless I do that. I haven't dared trying...)

I've just read that thread and it's very interesting to say the least!

My watch however is definitely sapphire crystal and a very thick one at that so it will be fine.

I think I'll go with Coldi on this and do 37 winds! :)

Thanks

Just wind it until it stops. There's nothing "bad" for the movement about it.

Yep, should last you a lifetime provided you look after it.
