Lets talk about straps

With the recent releases of super panerai reps from the H-factory, I find myself with an ever growing collection of PAM reps which means that I need to now get a set of nice straps for my panerais...

What I have so far: 111H from Little Hero, Cartel 005, 026, 288, 127 seriously in need of modding and a 217 in the works... I also have a 188 on its way...

I started with dark brown straps but these seem to have lost favor in my eyes and I am now looking at tan, mustard colours which I feel bring out the panerai feeling in a watch... I also think that a shiny black croc may be very suitable for certain models dressier models, such as the 188... I have yet to find something that will look good on the DLC 026.

What is your strap philosophy and what tried and tested combos can you recommend?

I'm all about contrast...a nice light calf for PVD cases, brown for Ti, and really anything for polished cases. Gray on Ti looks amazing as well. I tend to stay away from stitching for the most part...I do like dead-end stitching though. Ammo straps zing me, I love them. I like them thick too...my strap from ach is 6mm thick and it looks so imposing, especially where the buckle is (where the two end overlap). I personally like my buckle to sit slightly offset from the center of my wrist. Some don't like the look but I find that it keeps the buckle from getting scuffed up. I also think that a killer buckle is a necessity for a nice strap...my current favorites are the (now discontinued) massive 8A jolly roger and the Kain veteran sub in two tone polished/brushed.

Looking to get a nice light tan calf for the 026 now from Kain heritage... I like my straps thick too... the gunny catlin I got from a previous purchase is absolutely fantastic...

KH has a nice light calf with charcoal stitch that would look killer on the 026! Plus it comes with my favorite buckle:

I just ordered the same thing (or what looked the same) but in a different buckle.. Will do a review when I get it and wear it a few times... I am wondering if anyone would also do strap reviews
