Noob PAM111 V4 (or V3?) VS Gen.

I think this will help everybody to learn the basic differences and to spot if your watch is a V3, V4 or a Mix.

On the back (v4 on the right)
Different shape of swan neck, different shape of Y incabloc, different color of jewels, overall better finish on gen (i.e. bridges edges polished, teeth on the winding gears polished...), OFFICINE PANERAI engraving is smaller and different font in gen, different color as well.
Minor differences on caseback engravings.

On the front (gen on the right)

Dial
In gen cutouts are sharper, inscriptions more crisp and different font, CP perfectly polished, hands are thicker and better machined. I won't comment on lume color and inscriptions color.

CG (this is a v3 CG)
CG pin with sharper bevel, inner lever has perfect angle, tip has different shape, crown is perfectly machined and polished.

This is what I see, I'm sure there is more.

It's impossible to determine if case is v3 or v4 without pics of the lugs taken from specific angles.

Thanks, Kilo. Those are great observations. Maybe a bit too hard for noobs to spot easily.
I've been all night going trough reps and gens and I think there is and instant tell. Something you can compare very easily.
Here's a picture of what I consider is..

Horrible crystal quality on the 111 rep. Very easy to spot the difference IMO.

Sorry but you're wrong, the V3 crystal is as good as gen.
Gen Panerai crystal are not that great btw.

I can spot a noob 111 from across the room just from the crystal clarity. You need to see a gen in the flesh to note the difference.

No, Greg. That actually comes in different positions on the gen as well.
And the lettering on the movement is the one from the V3 model, which as correct as it can be.

Rep on the right. Incabloc gives it away; besides OP engraving on the bridge is off.

You're right, so this is why a pam 111 is so well known as a super rep, now i'm tempted to buy one
