I've never been a fan of ordinary, that fact is one of the largest reasons I got into the strap business. I want my strap to be as detailed and complex as the watch which it secures to my wrist. Throwing contrasting layer into the center was the first step toward new ideas, now I'm taking it further. More colors means more customization options, I'll let the pictures do the talking:
