Latest speedmaster moonwatch

Hello fellow forum members,

I have been looking for this speedmaster on several TD websites with no luck. (The current 2021 version) I only seem to find this "standard" black moonwatch in the previous model. But I really don't like that steel bracelet, but I love this one .
Does anybody have a TD where this one is available?

Nope and we might not see one of these anytime soon. While there is a great market for a good moonwatch rep, the rep makers do not think it will make money. Go gen if you can.

Trust me, we have all been on this constant battle to get them to do it.

The latest MoonSwatch is the best example over how people would love an affordable version of the Moonwatch.

My gut feeling is that most of the replica market looks for easy luxury flashing. Hence so many Royal Oak, Daytona, Nautilus, Submariner and such. The Speedmaster Professional is zero flashy and still maintains the old school humble tool watch flavour. Not many people would flaunt a Speedmaster thinking that it will make him look rich and successful. And that’s why it would only be popular amongst the watch enthusiasts. This forum is full of them so it might look like it’s popular, but it’s probably not.

^ This. And I think a key point is that the replica watch market, being based in China, is very much geared toward that market. I don't think the 'watch worn by the first (American) man on the moon' shtick has much appeal for the average wealthy Chinese businessman as it does for American watch enthusiasts. From what I understand, that market is much more about flexing on others and giving the appearance of wealth. Just doesn't have the same cultural significance over there.
