I owned a 44MM Mini Fiddy several years ago, and experienced the exploding crystal phenomenon. The word on the forums was that the mineral glass cystal was just not strong enough to resist the pressure of that dome. And all of the minis had mineral crystals. Folks were frantically searching for real saphire, or acrylic crystals, without success, to repair their watches. I now see that several new to me dealers are selling the Mini Fiddy. The watch still features a mineral crystal. Did the factories or dealers somehow solve this problem in the months that I have been away?
